Roger Williams — A Life Cut Short in Vietnam
By Dutton Family

Roger Williams was just 19 years old when he was killed in action in Vietnam in 1968. The eldest child of Pete and Betty (White) Williams, Roger grew up in the tight-knit community around Glade Spring, Virginia, surrounded by his twin brothers Gary and Jerry, his sisters Cindy, Mary, and Sherry, and his many cousins in the White family.
His cousin Teresa Ann White — who would become Teresa Dutton — remembers him as part of the fabric of family gatherings captured in the photos of this archive.
Roger's sacrifice is remembered not just by his immediate family, but by the entire community of Southwest Virginia that raised him.
